EDINBURG (KFXV) -- In District Court 398, closing arguments were held in the Elda Flores ase, a former Edinburg ISD teacher accused of causing injury to one of her former first grade student.
Rene Guerra, former Hidalgo County District Attorney took the stand, recalling the case was declined by his administration in 2014. However the investigation was reopened believing there was enough evidence to take flores to trial. The deliberation process by the grand jury will continue tomorrow. Flores faces third degree felony charges and if found guilty she could spend 10 years in jail.
