Pharr Police seek community help to keep investigation off the cold case list

Pharr (KFXV ) The Pharr Police Department is implementing a method to prevent the death of this man being classified as unsolved.
The gruesome discovery took place on a saturday morning, 15 years ago.

22 year old, Ricardo Mejia who resided in the city of Edinburg was found breathless at this same intersection. The body was in between an orchard of the area. Now police are trying to bring back the case to receive any possible information.. keeping Mejia's file off the cold case list.

Sergeant Mendoza with the Pharr Police Department explains to Fox 2 News the goal of bringing this case back is in part input from the community.

Right now one of the leads, the department is working with came after a preliminary investigation. The evidence of a small passenger vehicle leaving the area of the crime.

Sergeant Mendoza tells me it's extremely important you know how important your information on this and any case can be. He wants people to remember sometimes a simple phone call could lead to the identity of the murderer.
